Let me self-report that I can't believe how well I am doing. By the end of the first week, I was off of meds and taking regular
aspirin. I'm down to about 6 aspirin a day. By the end of two weeks, I had regained the motion I had before surgery, which of
course wasn't very much but I am encouraged. My greatest temptation is to treat my arm like it is normal and accidentally carry
something. I am intentionally trying not to do this but I'm feeling so well I have to fight the automatic inclination.
Most of my friends can't believe I had this major surgery when they look at me and if I didn't have the scar and the memory of the
first few days, I probably wouldn't believe it either. My discomfort is generally tightness and weakness but that seems to be
decreasing with time. I am is optimistic about my goal of being able to hug again with both arms.
Sincerely -
