The Steadman Hawkins Sports Medicine Clinic has an athletic training fellowship program for certified athletic trainers. This twelve month
fellowship has been created for certified athletic trainers to expand their education, increase knowledge as a physician extender, and to work directly with the highly respected physicians and staff at the Steadman
Hawkins Sports Medicine Clinic in Vail Colorado.
The Steadman Hawkins athletic training fellowship program hires 5 athletic trainers from the last week of July, until July 31st
of the following year. The athletic training fellowship consists of ten-week rotations that include responsibilities in
the clinical and physical therapy setting, continuing education, conducting and publishing research, and athletic training outreach
coverage for the Steadman Hawkins outreach program.
The goals of the fellowship are:
- To provide education and experience to Athletic Trainers regarding treatment methods and protocols developed at the world renowned Steadman Hawkins Clinic.
- To provide the Athletic Trainers with numerous eductional and research opportunities
- Further Athletic Trainer's knowledge in all aspects of Sports Medicine through the Steadman Hawkins Clinic and the Sports Medicine Research Foundation.
- Expose the Athletic Trainers to a multitude of clinical, surgical, research, physical therapy, outreach, and educational settings.
